| Strategic Planning |
The process of strategic planning is crucial to the success of an organization. The saying, "If you don't know where you are going, you will end up somewhere else," is particularly true for nonprofit organizations. Benevolent Vision works with board members and strategic planning committees, enabling them to identify where they want to go and how they are going to get there.
Ranlyn Tilley Hill, president of Benevolent Vision, has advised such organizations as Challenged Athletes Foundation, Las Floristas Children's Charities, Military Women In Need and Youth Science Center in the development of their strategic plans.

| Policies and Procedures |
Benevolent Vision has created a proactive Policies and Procedures Program for our clients. As an organization grows, its exposure and potential risk of certain liabilities increases. Nonprofits are still corporations and are subject to many of the same exposures and risks as our "for-profit" cousins. Additionally, there are legislative and compliance requirements that are unique to tax-exempt organizations. In order to ensure the continued health of your organization, and prepare internally for continued growth, BV recommends a thorough Policies and Procedures "Health Check", including:
|
Review of Insurance Policies
Creation or review and amendment of Conflict of Interest
Policy
Creation
or review and amendment of Investment Policy
Review and compliance with the Nonprofit Integrity Act (CA)
Creation of or review and amendment of Audit Committee procedures
Review and amendment of Grant Giving Guidelines (Foundations) -or -
Review and amendment of Post-Grant Reporting Practices (Other nonprofits)
Creation or review and amendment of Gift Acceptance Guidelines
Creation or review and amendment of Employee Policy Manual
Development of a Crisis Management Plan/Public Relations Policy
Development of Succession Plan
|
The above are actions that healthy organizations take in order to navigate difficult issues or potential pitfalls. Preventative maintenance, in the form of the above Policies and Procedures, will keep your organization in good shape and ready for the next challenge!

BV team members have worked on annual campaigns for Westside Food Bank, Youth Science Center, This Little Light and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and Military Women In Need.

| Corporate, Foundation & Individual Giving |
Every donor desires to make a gift that will have as much impact on a charity as possible. Benevolent Vision assists corporate, foundation and individual donors in the development of giving guidelines, evaluation of causes, and selection of charities that reflect their values and philanthropic missions. Special consideration is given to the coordination of the donor's giving with relevant professionals, including tax and legal counsel. Ms. Hill has directed Pepsi Bottling Group, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Las Floristas Children's Charities, and Military Women In Need Foundation in the development of their mission statements, giving priorities and guidelines.
|

Every organization benefits from skilled, confident and insightful leaders. Benevolent Vision helps new chairmen and presidents develop these characteristics through private, one-on-one training sessions, including public speaking, speech writing and meeting facilitation techniques. Ms. Hill has provided leadership training to the presidents and chairmen of several highly respected nonprofits. This training is frequently provided on a confidential basis.
|

In order to make an impact, your image must speak as loud as your words. BV also helps nonprofits "brand" their organization, redesign their image and create printed materials that make an impact.
|

As organizations evolve to the next level so do personnel requirements. Benevolent Vision works with nonprofit leadership to analyze management and staffing needs, develop clear job descriptions, thoroughly screen candidates and present highly qualified, passionate prospects who “fit” the culture and mission of the organization. As Jim Collins illustrates in his book Good To Great “getting the right people on the bus” is even more important than the direction of the bus. BV’s comprehensive approach to selecting high-performance personnel will assure you the leadership needed to propel your nonprofit to fulfill its mission.
|
